85 years after the first ballot for land allocations on 14 October 1930,
The Walpole Nornalup and District Historical Society Inc
organised a commemorative weekend 3-4 October 2015.

Between 350 and 400 people came to see the display at the Walpole Sport and Recreation Centre, where the Walpole Nornalup and District Historical Society Inc hosted the 85th Anniversary and Reunion, to commemorate the development of Walpole through the Walpole Land Settlement Scheme.

The first ballot for land allocation to the pioneer settlers was held on 14 October 1930. A second ballot for land further north was held on 25 November 2015
Those who were successful in being allocated one of the 85 blocks are listed in the Society's publication: "85 Years in the Making"..
Many past local residents returned to Walpole for the weekend and caught up with family and friends in a relaxed social atmosphere.
The Bow Bridge, Tingledale and Hazelvale (BTH) Ladies Group worked throughout Saturday morning and Sunday morning and afternoon serving morning and afternoon teas.
